This year marks the 5 year anniversary of 10 Island Race. It has been continuously improved and we have some exciting news for this year as well:
- Race Class levels the playing field by introducing same kayaks for everyone. Rental kayak is now included in the price and no one can say the opponents won by having a better kayak. Ladies class use K2 double kayaks, mix and men’s class use K1 single kayaks.
- Starting times based on four years’ experience; ladies and mix class starts first and men after. First team any class to finish wins the prize of 10.000 SEK.
- In open class you start first, use any type of kayak or surfski and gets to take on the challenge of doing the full 10 Island Race with some extra time to enjoy the scenery. Now at a lower price.
10 Island Swimrun has been growing a lot for each year. This year we are introducing different starting groups instead of one big mass start. You estimate your finish time and apply for a start group based on that.
The finale for both races in Hönö Klåva harbor is back to jumping in from the dock and doing the two last swim legs in full view of everybody at finish line. We tried another solution last year but all feedback was a strong request to return to this, from both audience and racers.
